Join us for the 30th Annual Turkey Trot and help make one of our community’s favorite Thanksgiving traditions a success! The YMCA of the Roses is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to assist with a variety of activities surrounding this year’s Turkey Trot. Whether you enjoy helping behind the scenes, welcoming participants, assisting with event preparations, or lending a hand on race day, there’s an opportunity for you to get involved. Volunteer Dates: November 23, 24 & 25 Location: Graham Aquatic Center Volunteers play an important role in creating a fun, welcoming, and memorable experience for our runners, families, and community. The purpose of the branch board is to conduct activities throughout the branch service area that are in harmony with and supportive of the mission and goals of the Association. Each Branch Board is charged to carry on its works in a manner consistent with the general purposes and objectives of the organization and the policies and operating procedures established by the Corpoare Board. This is merely an opportunity to explore your interest in a Branch Board member position within the YMCA of the Roses. You will be contacted by the appropriate staff person to discuss branch board opportunities.

The Christian Emphasis Committee shall advise the Corporate Board on policies regarding the development and enhancement of strategic plans related to putting Christian principles into practices through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all.

Support the Y’s commitment to building a healthier community as a Community Health Instructor Volunteer! Volunteers in this role work alongside our class instructors to help create a welcoming, organized, and positive experience for class participants. Depending on the class or program, volunteers may assist with welcoming participants, preparing materials or equipment, supporting participants during activities, and helping with setup and cleanup. No teaching experience is required. We’re looking for friendly, dependable volunteers who enjoy helping others and want to support programs that encourage healthier, more active lives. Volunteer opportunities may be available at the following YMCA of the Roses locations: Spring Grove W. Dale Brougher YMCA – Shrewsbury Bob Hoffman Dover YMCA Arthur J. The purpose of the Corporate Board is determine the planning and policy decisions, assure adequate funding, monitor and sanction events, and employ the CEO. This is merely an opportunity to explore your interest in a Corporate Board member position within the YMCA of the Roses. You will be contacted by the appropriate staff person to discuss corporate board opportunities.

The Finance Committee is commissioned by the Board of Directors to formulate and recommend policies and practices required to manage the association’s finances, evaluate financial reports, approve budget, review audit.

The Financial Development Committee shall advise the Corporate Board on all fundraising activities and policies. It shall assist with individual giving, government fudning, special event fundraising, grants, and planned giving for the annual and capital campaign.

The Human Resources Committee is commissioned by the Board of Directors to provide counsel in development of strategic human resources plans related to the Y mission and cause, recommend policies and practices, advise staff relative to talent management and review recommended policies related to total rewards including salary administration.

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate volunteers to support the operations of our new low-barrier shelter. Volunteers will play a key role in ensuring a safe, welcoming, and organized environment for individuals experiencing homelessness. Volunteers will assist guests with a range of tasks, from check-in to check-out, and help provide essential services during evening and morning hours. Feel free to choose an evening or morning shift, preferably both shifts if you can.

The Corporate Marketing Committee is commissioned by the Board of Directors to formulate and recommend policies to manage association’s marketing plan, review and present annual marketing plan to the board, evaluate and measure effectiveness of marketing plan vs. agreed upon objectives.
